These businesses and supportive affiliates are all striving for that ‘sweet spot’ in which agriculture is proudly supported by our communities there is a vibrant workforce made up of inspired entrepreneurs and workers who have passion for products produced and equity in business outcomes and agricultural businesses and support systems are economically viable and vibrant. Hawai‘i’s agricultural sector presently reflects a highly diverse range of crops, production methodologies, business models, and markets - meeting a variety of opportunities, needs and demands. Be it the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, the local economy, or cultural and social drivers - times are constantly evolving, and there is a critical need to have a solid understanding of the big picture and to engage with others to identify, support and leverage opportunities to adapt in ways that benefit individual businesses, the collective agricultural community, and consumers of Hawai‘i. Today more than ever, the agriculture sector and its affiliated industries must provide collaborative leadership to proactively address a changing environment. Conference planning is focused on delivering a safe, in-person event at the Hawai‘i Convention Center in Honolulu. The Poipu Pa`ina is hosted by the Poipu Beach Foundation and Southwest Airlines and in partnership with Hawaii Tourism Authority.ĪG2022: Collaborative Leaders as Ag-ents of Change The Agricultural Leadership Foundation of Hawai‘i will host the next statewide all-agriculture conference on September 27-28, 2022. ![]() The Program trains approximately 60 students a year and many of the graduates go on to find jobs in the local culinary industry. A portion of the proceeds from the Gala help with the continued development of KCC’s Culinary Arts Program by providing financial assistance for students in need. Poipu Paina: An exquisite epicurean event highlighting the students of the Kauai Community College Culinary Arts Program and featuring some of Hawaii’s finest chefs and perfectly paired wine, live music and a silent auction. Event is free with beer and wine and small plates for purchase. At 5:00pm, make your way to the Palm Court for a special culinary demonstration by the students of the Kauai Community College Culinary Arts Program. October 19th from 3:30 to 6:00pm in the traditional pau hana (after work) style. Culinary Market +KCC Demo: Discover the freshest island ingredients at the weekly Kauai Culinary Market hosted by the Shops at Kukui`ula in partnership with the Kauai County Farm Bureau, The two-day event will celebrate Kauai’s diverse culinary resources and talents, while supporting the Culinary Arts Program at Kauai Community College (KCC). The Poipu Beach Foundation (PBF) and Southwest Airlines will host the 5th Annual Poipu Food & Wine Festival, from October 19th through October 22nd. ![]()
